“In my role at Oakwood, I discovered Sterling a number of years ago and was immediately impressed with the modular concept for the construction of their mattress. Oakwood has worked diligently to operate under sustainable protocols. The Sterling systems certainly comply with operational guidelines that we have established.

One definite operational advantage is the concept of purchasing replacement components rather than discarding an entire mattress because of a stained cover or broken down foam overlay. Operationally, however, we have not had any failed components. Our housekeeping team has been able to service the removable cover. This has been a great find for Oakwood.”

“Our Sterling mattresses are an important part of our strategy for meeting guest comfort and working towards a more sustainable hotel operation. During the 4 years we have had the mattresses we have yet to notice any wear issues. We have had damaged tops which we were able to replace instead of replacing the entire mattress. Beds go back into service immediately avoiding the cost of replacement, rooms out of service and the expense of shipping a single mattress. One less mattress in the landfill.

The whole idea is to offer a top quality mattress to our guest for the longest possible time.”
